Terms & Conditions

About these terms
These terms apply to website design services provided by Skipper's World Websites ("I", "me") to you ("the client"). By getting in touch to start a project, you agree to these terms. If anything here is unclear, just ask — I'm happy to talk it through before any work begins.
The service
I design, build and host websites for small businesses. Unless agreed otherwise in writing, the standard package includes:
- A one-off setup fee of £100, covering website design and build, domain and website setup, and the first month of hosting
- An ongoing fee of £50 per month, covering hosting, basic content changes, and technical support
Larger changes or new functionality beyond what's included may incur an additional cost — but this will always be agreed with you before any extra work begins.
Payment
The setup fee is due before work begins or on completion, as agreed at the start of the project. The monthly fee is billed in advance and covers hosting and support for that month.
Cancellation
You may cancel the ongoing monthly service at any time. Please give reasonable written notice (by email) so hosting can be wound down properly. The one-off setup fee is non-refundable once work has begun, as it covers time already spent on design and development.
Content and intellectual property
You own the content of your website (text, images, logos and branding you provide). I retain the right to showcase the finished website in my own portfolio and marketing, including on the Projects and Testimonials pages of this site, unless you ask me not to.
You're responsible for making sure any content you provide (images, text, logos) is either your own or that you have the right to use it.
Hosting and support
While your monthly fee is active, I'll keep your website hosted and handle basic maintenance, security and small content updates. If the monthly fee lapses, hosting may be paused and the website taken offline until payment resumes.
Liability
I'll do my best to build a reliable, well-tested website, but I can't guarantee it will be free of every possible fault, or that hosting will have zero downtime. I'm not liable for any indirect loss (such as loss of business or income) arising from use of your website or this service.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
